Develop your woodworking skills under expert guidance using a wide range of tools and equipment to produce a wooden item of your choice. You will decide and plan the piece you would like to make and will be advised what type of wood and other materials you need to buy to start working on it. If you are already working on a piece you can bring that with you to continue working on. Beginners have the option to make a small box with dovetailed joints (materials supplied in class for an additional £5) before embarking on a project of their own.
A parent may enrol with a child aged 11 – 16 years of age to make an item together.
Feedback from students:
“I enjoy the woodwork class enormously, I go each week with my son. It has given me the chance to focus on a number of projects which I had been putting off. The range of equipment available on the course is tremendous and Chris the tutor brings a wealth of knowledge and experience. I have attached a picture of the two Adirondack garden chairs I completed last term. This term I’m working on a dolls house for my grand children.”
“The course is great and my son (13) and I have really enjoyed it. ”
